Crosshaven GAA Club Dinner

Crosshaven GAA Club Dinner

Cork Senior Hurling manager Kieran Kingston from the neighbouring parish of Tracton was the special guest at the recent Crosshaven GAA Club awards and dinner, which was held in the RCYC in Crosshaven.
The hurling manager remarked that he was amongst family and friends and had very strong links with the Crosshaven club, having played here on numerous occasions during his playing days with Tracton.
Club Chairman Martin McMullan welcomed everyone to the annual dinner and gave a brief outline of the club’s activities during the past year, and although the adult section of the club were unsuccessful in league and championship campaigns last season, the club can look forward to a bright future with the underage section having an excellent year, with divisional and county successes.
To cater for the ever-increasing numbers in the club, the club has decided to expand, with plans on show for the development of two new pitches – one adult sized and one juvenile pitch – as well as the provision of a hurling wall, with development expected to commence in the near future.
Club President JJ Kelly went on to congratulate everyone for their hard work and commitment to the club and wished them all the very best for the coming season and later presented the club’s main honours to Peter Foley, who was awarded with the Club Footballer of the Year while Stephen Connolly was presented with the Hurling Player of the Year Award.
This year’s Hall of Fame Award was presented to Donal Connolly for his years of service to the club, which was presented to him by his nephew and special guest Kieran Kingston.
