With Fota Wildlife Park desperately needing funds to survive during the most recent lockdown, Carrigaline girl Éadaoin O’Brien took it upon herself to complete a marathon to fundraise for Fota.
Éadaoin, who is 8 years old, is in first class at Gaelscoil Charraig Uí Leighin and is the daughter of Alan and Michelle O’Brien.
Éadaoin completed the marathon between jogging and walking in only 7 days at the beginning of April and in doing so, gained both local and national headlines, even featuring on radio station Newstalk.
All told, Éadaoin’s efforts raised €3,000 for Fota, a wonderful achievement.
Well done Éadaoin.
