Carrigaline Grown Christmas Trees

Updated: Nov 20, 2020

Carrigaline Grown Christmas Trees celebrates 10th year growing trees.

Is there anything that smells better than a fresh Christmas tree? Not according to Carrigaline Grown Christmas Trees founder Brenda Haubold.

The businesswoman, who has a background in horticulture and land management, first began growing Christmas trees in Carrigaline 10 years ago. “When you think of Christmas, one of the first images that comes to mind is the Christmas tree, covered in decorations, lights and tinsel. It’s the centrepiece of Christmas, and the focal point for parties and presents,” she said.

“I have always loved growing things and Christmas is one of my favourite times of year. There is nothing better than the smell of a freshly cut Christmas tree.”

The family-run farm offers a variety of different sized high quality and beautiful Christmas trees, with price-points to suit all. All the trees are grown and harvested in Carrigaline. Brenda says they planted the first trees 10 years ago, and some of them are now 16ft tall.

Those looking to find the perfect tree can go to the farm on the Ballinrea Road and select their own. Upon choosing your tree in the field, it is cut down for you, to keep it drinking water long after you’ve brought it home and ensure it lasts longer.

“Bring the wonderful smell of pine into your home this Christmas, with a freshly cut tree from us. All you have to do is bundle up your little elves and come on down to choose the perfect tree.”

Brenda said the Christmas trees are crops grown on the farm, like lettuce or potatoes. They are not cut down from wild forests on a large scale.

The farm is selling Christmas trees seven days a week from Friday 27th November until Christmas Eve. It is also selling a selection of handmade wreaths and table centrepieces.
