Cronin's Crosshaven Celebrate 50 Years

The much loved Crosshaven institution that is Cronin's Pub Crosshaven is celebrating a very special occasion - 50 years in business.

In a lovely Facebook post releases yesterday, Cronin's said,

"Today is a very special day in the history of Cronin's Pub. Fifty years ago, on April 1st, 1970, Jo and Denny took the keys to Kenneficks Hotel and opened the doors of Cronins Bar & Off Licence. Three generations of Cronins later and we are still proud to be a central part of Crosshaven village life. We are sad we are not open today to celebrate this momentous occasion with you all. What we have dug out from our archive is this beautiful tribute to our grandparents Josephine & Denis which we presented to them as a personal gift on their 60th Diamond Wedding Anniversary on 10 August 1999. It's the story of how they meet, their times as taxi drivers and their previous publican days running The White Horse in Parnell Place and the famous Church Bay Hotel. Hope you can take the time to join us on this trip down memory lane and that we see you soon to raise a glass to those forever in our memory and to the health of us all. xxx"

With the current Covid-19 crisis, the party will have to wait but we're all looking forward to what is sure to be a great gathering in Crosshaven.

Happy Anniversary Cronin's.
