Intimidating Tradesmen Preying On Carrigaline’s Elderly We at the Carrigdhoun have received a message from a reader, who wishes to remain anonymous, asking us to warn people that tradesmen carrying out paving work in the Carrigaline/Crosshaven area are intimidating and preying on vulnerable elderly residents. The reader has reported they are charging thousands of euro for incomplete work and agggressively demanding cash payment for same. The men are claiming they are reputable tradesmen on sites such as onlinetradesmen.ie but when checked, are not. According to the reader, one elderly couple were charged €12,000 for incomplete work with other people each charged thousands each. The men have been working in several locations around Carrigaline and are reported to be operating in Waterpark at present. This reader has reported it to the Gardai.
