If you're looking for a career change, both Cork City Council and Cork County Council are hiring for a number of different positions.


With the 220 bus linking Carrigaline and Crosshaven right through to the whole county, your morning commute to work has never been easier.

Cork City Council:


Title: Sports & Community Facilities Development Officer Pay

Experience: Candidates must have a sports related qualification and experience in local sports planning, especially in disadvantaged areas.

Salary: €42,777 ‐ €44,137

Role: The position will involve working from the Cork City Corporate Plan, and promoting social inclusion in sport, specifically amongst ‘youth at risk’, working in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. The role will also involve developing and implementing programmes and initiatives that increases active participation and learning in sport, paying special attention to youth at risk within the City.


Cork County Council:

Title: Temporary Part Time Pool Assistant - Dunmanway

Experience: Candidates must hold a minimum current Irish Water Safety Pool Lifeguard Level 2 award or RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and have a thorough knowledge of resuscitation including Cardio Pulmonary.

Pay: Minimum Wage €10.10 per hour.

Role: The Pool Assistant will report to the Manager or their deputy and will assist, supervise

and control, where necessary users of the facility


Title: Beach Lifeguard 2020 Season

Experience: Candidates must hold a hold a current valid Beach Lifeguard Award from the Irish Water Safety Association or equivalent by 20th April, 2020 and have thorough knowledge of resuscitation including Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation.

Pay: Senior Beach Guard will get €15.50 basic per hour and Beach Guard: €13.58 basic per hour.

Role: The Beach Lifeguard will perform a number of tasks including checking equipment daily and keep the area under supervision at all times.
