Passage Ladies Football Club Medal Presentation Night

Passage Ladies Football Club Medal Presentation Night

Team coach Francis McEveney gave a brief outline into the team’s performances during the year, with trips to Belfast for the Feile competition and Croke Park culminating in the club capturing the Mid Cork Autumn league title and runners up in the Feile competition. Mayor Cork County Cllr Seamus McGrath was also in attendance and went onto congratulate the team on their wonderful year, paying tribute not only to the players, but to the coaches and management team who had brought success yet again to Passage. Congratulations were also given by club chairman Wayne Atkinson who also remarked that it was the first team from Passage to get to the Ladies Football Feile Finals and hoped that the club will bring further silverware back to Passage in the not to distant future. The Autumn League medals were presented to each team member by Ciara O’Sullivan who also congratulated them on their recent success and wished the team well for the coming season. Presentations were also made to the background team of Francis McEveney, John O’Connor and Chris O’Flynn along with Sue O’Flynn, Emma Glavin and Cillian Murphy with each team member also presented with a Cork replica jersey during the evening. Ciara O’Sullivan brought the All Ireland ladies football trophy – the Brendan Martin Cup – to Passage that evening where youngsters had an opportunity to see the trophy up close and personal and have their pictures taken with the All Ireland trophy, dreaming of being part of the Cork senior team to play in Croke Park and winning the All Ireland someday.
