'Seamus the Sea Salmon' is coming to Crosshaven

To honour 'Year of the Salmon' a new stainless steel statue will be erected in honour of the mythical aquatic creature in Crosshaven this summer.

'Seamus the Sea Salmon' will be four meter stainless steel statue, that will be filed with ocean plastic and also be solar powered.

The statue will be unveiled to the public at the end of May, after near a year of fundraising from environmental activists Jim Upton, local councillor Fianna Fáil Audrey Buckley, and Aoife Deane from the Centre for Marine and Renewable Energy.

'Seamus the Sea Salmon' will be based off 'Bertie the Sea Bass' which is on Pembroke Dock in Wales.
