1966 was a great year for Cork. The Senior hurlers battered Kilkenny in the All Ireland final 3-9 to 1-10, and Northsider Jack Lynch was Taoiseach.
All across the island of Ireland people spoke about Cork and the heroes coming from the Rebel County.
It was also a year of much change across the world, with many new inventions such as video recorders, now available for popular use.
This first hand footage, taken on a personal camera fifty four years ago, allows us to fully explore that golden time.
If you enjoyed this, weekly videos taking a historical look at Carrigaline, Kinsale, and the greater Carrigdhoun region will be available shortly.
