One Plate for Palestine, is an Irish hospitality-led week-long (July 22-27) campaign raising funds for the people of Palestine who are at risk of starvation. We’re inviting Irish food and hospitality businesses from all over the country — restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs, food trucks, market stalls, and anywhere else that serves up food (from Michelin-awarded chefs to iconic bars to award-winning food trucks) to join us from Monday July 22 to Sunday July 27 to add a special Palestinian-themed dish to their menu with all funds raised from the sale of that dish going to the One Plate for Palestine fundraiser.

The idea of One Plate for Palestine is very simple and very easily incorporated as a ‘special’ for participating restaurants to feature over the course of the campaign, anything from a single day to several days to the entire week.ONE PLATE FOR PALESTINE - HOW IT WORKSA. Participating restaurants will create a dish (or drink!) of their own or follow an already existing Palestinian recipe using any or all of the following ingredients: Palestinian Za’atar, Sumac, Labneh, Hummus, Palestinian Olive Oil, Palestinian OlivesORB.

To make it even easier again, they can serve up our suggested dish, Prátaí do Phalaistín/Potatoes for Palestine, a simple, delicious yet highly symbolic combination which brings together two food cultures to illustrate the strong bonds between Palestine and Ireland, not least through our shared historical experience of extreme and even fatal hunger.
