ALDI Carrigaline will become the retailer’s 27th store in Cork when it opens on Thursday 7th December.
Store Manager Jason Murphy tells us about himself, and what customers can expect at the new store.
Jason Murphy:
I’m delighted to be opening our new ALDI store in Carrigaline, which is a very exciting development for the local area. Originally from Dingle, Co. Kerry, I moved to Cork in January 2020 and currently live in Innishannon with my wife, Irene, and our two-year-old son, Jack.
At ALDI, we’re committed to providing unbeatable value and top-quality Irish produce, and we’re looking forward to delivering that to the people of Carrigaline. Customers can enjoy an excellent shopping experience at our state-of-the-art store, built in ALDI’s award-winning ‘Project Fresh’ layout and design.
It is also a great opportunity for me, having started my career with ALDI in Skibbereen then moving to the Ballincollig store back in January 2020, and having worked at various stores since. I’ve seen first-hand the difference ALDI has made in Cork, in terms of value for customers, creating jobs in the community and supporting suppliers from across the county.
When not working, I enjoy a variety of hobbies, in particular for GAA, soccer, and watching rugby. Most importantly, I cherish spending time with my wife and son, finding a balance between work and family life.
Our Carrigaline store will continue ALDI’s commitment to the communities we serve. We will join ALDI’s Community Grants network, providing an annual €500 bursary grant to a local charity, and will work with FoodCloud and the Too Good to Go app, to help tackle food waste, and donate surplus food to those who need it most.
Our new store on Old Pottery Road opens Thursday, 7th December.
Opening hours:
Monday-Friday: 9am–10pm
Saturday/Sunday: 9am–9pm
