Ballinspittle Comhaltas is on a roller coaster of emotions after a super win at the All Ireland Fleadh. There U18 Group won the all-Ireland after a stunning performance which demonstrated their musicality and talent at Mullingar.
Teacher Rosaire Cagney was justifiably proud of the achievement of these amazing musicians who have been branch members since they were seven years old. They had 43 competitors taking part in the competitions, the largest of any Cork Branch, and 23 were medalists, which is a phenomenal achievement.
It was the first time the branch had a band competing at this level, and this band was awarded 3rd place, which is also a huge achievement.
Congratulations to Lucy Teape, who was awarded 3rd place in the U18 Harp solo competition and Blaithin Collins, who was awarded 3rd place in both Harp and Fiddle. Ciaran Ward got 3rd place in the U15 Piano Accordion, and Eilish Seymour got 3rd place in the U12 Piano Accordion. Diarmaid Ward got 3rd in Miscellaneous.
