Changes To Crosshaven And Carrigaline Bus Services Deferred Until Next Week

Following announced changes to the bus services along the Ballincollig -City Centre – Carrigaline – Crosshaven Corridor, which were due to come in to effect last Sunday, April 3rd, Bus Eireann have confirmed that these changes will now commence next Sunday, April 10th. It is hoped that the changes will greatly benefit commuters, who will enjoy a more frequent service from Carrigaline and a more direct service for Crosshaven customers, who have been enduring extremely long journey times since the current service was introduced in August 2014. The revised service is as follows: The level of service between the City Centre and Ballincollig/Carrigaline will be increased to 3 buses an hour between 06:30hrs to 18:30hrs, Monday to Saturday. The new Route 220X services will operate from Crosshaven and Fountainstown via Carrigaline, Carrs Hill, the City Centre, Carrigrohane Road and Ballincollig Village to EMC/Grange Manor, Ovens. Route 220X will not serve Douglas Village or Model Farm Rd – (Route 220X passengers for Douglas must change from 220X to 220 at Carrigaline) Route 220 will operate from Carrigaline via Douglas Village and the City Centre to Ballincollig/EMC, Monday to Saturday, (not serving Crosshaven/Fountainstown). However, Route 220 will continue to serve Crosshaven/Fountainstown on Sundays.
