Lorraine Hogan is proud to announce the release of her debut short documentary, Sean Scoil," now available on her YouTube channel @lorrainehoganx.
Hogan continues to showcase her extraordinary talent and passion for storytelling through this heartfelt project.Sean Scoil highlights the remarkable story of a rural Irish community’s collective effort to save and transform an historic school building into a vibrant cultural hub.
Built in 1836, the Georgian design old school building faced demolition until the locals of Minane Bridge rallied to preserve their heritage, turning it into a state of the art community centre. Featuring inspiring interviews and a stirring musical performance by Liam Ó Maonlaí, the film celebrates resilience, heritage, and the enduring spirit of Irish communities.
Lorraine Hogan’s diverse creative journey - from visual art and music to film - has garnered national recognition. Her debut as producer, director with her film Sean Scoil was nominated for Best Television Documentary In Irish at the 2024 National Student Media Awards, affirming its impact and significance.

Lorraine Hogan brings warmth and resonance to a story that is both personal and universal. Hogan states. ‘This project is about more than a building. It’s a tribute to the power of community, heritage, and volunteerism.
