Crosshaven AFC News

Crosshaven AFC News Writes John Duggan PRO Congratulations to Padraig Murphy who has helped Cork U12’s to a 5-0 victory over Waterford. Cork now head to the Munster Final, which is expected to be played on 23rd of April at Turners Cross. With the U13 final also expected to be on the same day it should be a good day out for the club, with at least 2 players and one coach involved. The U9s had a great day out in Riverstown. They played 4 games and scored plenty of goals. There was some great football played by both teams. Well done lads. Crosshaven U13’s secured a massive 3 points, with a superb 3-2 win away to Richmond. Zach Murphy scored the opener after an assist from Hugh Lynch before Richmond hit back. Christian Byrne scored a stunning free kick to restore Crosser’s advantage but again Richmond hit back. 2-2 at half time. Ten minutes into the second half Crosshaven scored what proved to be the winner. Patrick Cotter played a beautiful reverse ball to Sam Hogan who set up Liam Connolly, who made no mistake. It’s difficult to single anyone out after this performance but Patrick Cotter, who along with Josh McCarthy are linking up with the Cork team, were absolutely outstanding. Crosshaven U12’s eased into the next round of the Blackwater Motors Cup with a comprehensive victory over Ballinhassig in Camden. On target were Lee Morley, Liam Cotter, Charlie Neville, Padraig Murphy & Cillian Deane. Meanwhile the U15’s progressed in the Cup at the expense of Blarney Utd. Joe O’Brien & Darragh Cogan on target. The Juniors had another game called off at the weekend due to bad weather so are preparing themselves for a busy few weeks ahead with a game scheduled for Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday over the next week. They come off a mixed run of results with a win a, loss and a draw in their last 3 games. They will be looking to get back on track against Rockmount on Thursday night. Crosshaven’s Cian Kingston scored his first goal for Cobh Ramblers last weekend. Well done Cian! Bookings for this Summers FAI Soccer School are now open. The camp takes place in Camden from 8-12th August. https://booking.summersoccerschools.ie/login
