It has been revealed that in just three weeks time Crosshaven and Camden Fort Meaghar will be dusting off the red carpet following the announcement that the Dutch Monarchs are set to pay South Cork a visit.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima will be visiting Ireland from June 12th until the 14th, first heading to Dublin and then making their way down to Cork.
A statement from the Royal House website read, “arriving in Cobh, the delegation joins the Dutch companies of the economic mission and their Irish counterparts from the maritime infrastructure and port development sector.”
“The Royal Couple will enter into dialogue with companies focusing on port infrastructure and digitization of port services and the development of the Ringaskiddy deep-sea terminal. In addition, attention is paid to cooperation between Dutch and Irish ports.”
“In the presence of the King and Queen, further cooperation between Dutch and Irish partners will also be endorsed by a signing ceremony between different parties.”
The statement Went on to say, “the state visit ends with a visit to Camden Fort Meagher in Crosshaven. The many volunteer initiatives are central to this visit. Ireland’s rural areas have a strong social commitment and a large club life. During a tour of the fort, the Koningspaar will speak with various volunteer organisations from the region that work on social cohesion in various fields.
