Do Main Street, Carrigaline Premises Require Numbers? Writes Leo McMahon
Should all buildings in Main Street, Carrigaline have numbers? That was a question posed by Cllr Eoghan Jeffers (SF) at the monthly meeting of Cork County Council’s Carrigaline-Ballincollig Municipal District. He said he was approached by two people trying to set up landline and broadband who had difficulty getting these from providers due to the absence of a number and full address for their premises. He also noted that when one Googled some addresses in Carrigaline, it gave that of the Garda station. Some units, off Main Street were numbered, he noted. Cllr Seamus McGrath (FF) wondered if the council had a function in this and urged caution. He had never heard the matter raised at business association meetings and suggested this body be consulted first. It was agreed to refer the matter to the planning department.
