Edmund Rice College Carrigaline – Official Welcome Ceremony

Edmund Rice College Carrigaline – Official Welcome Ceremony

The Principal, Ms Adele Flynn, hosted the event, which acknowledged the completion of the school’s first academic week, a milestone now woven into the history of the Carrigaline area. Edmund Rice College, which opened its doors to fifty two male and female First Year pupils, joined the family of ninety seven schools within the Edmund Rice Schools Trust in Ireland. The main objective of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust is to foster the advancement of education and to further the aims and purposes of Catholic education within their schools. Under the guidance of Ms. Flynn and Deputy Principal, Mr. Peter Hyde, Edmund Rice College endeavours to promote a values-based education, which promotes equality of access and participation. In line with these ideals, an educational classroom for students with Autism has been purposefully developed within the school’s provision. Principal Flynn commented, ‘We want to recognise the uniqueness of each individual within our school community and ensure that holistic development is nurtured here and that high educational and pastoral standards and fostered simultaneously.’ She continued, ‘We are looking forward to a long future in education here in Edmund Rice College and are delighted to officially welcome all our students and their families in to our school community.’ For more information visit www.erccarrigaline.ie.
