Family Fund Launched In Clontead

Family Fund Launched In Clontead

The recent death of Caroline Corkery, 43, leaving a grieving partner, Declan, and ten children, ranging in age from four to twenty, numbed the entire parish of Clontead.

Now in response to helping the family to recover from their terrible loss, a group of concerned neighbours and friends, including Garda James O’Mahony, Cllr Kevin Murphy, Mr. Paddy Harrington, Mr. Michael Collins and Mrs. Susan Collins, have set up a trust to help raise funds to complete a number of works at the family’s home, including ‘finishing out’ a number of bedrooms for the children and adding some additional living space.

Already numerous local tradesmen have agreed to donate their time free of charge but materials will need to be purchased, so a bank account has been opened to facilitate donations to the fund.

Donations can be made online using the following information:

Acc. No 14174019,

Sort 93-40-89

IBAN NO. IE86AIBK93408914174019

Donations can also be made in person at AIB Kinsale or Carrigaline or directly to any of the trustees.

As well as cash donations a number of fundraising events are set to take place in the coming months, the first of which is a monster bingo in Acton’s Hotel on February 15th, with doors opening at 7.30pm

The organising committee are asking the community to come out and support the upcoming fundraiser.
