Ballinhassig face Courcey Rovers, as Valley Rovers, Ballymarlte and Carrigaline host group of death

County rivals are set to collide after the Cork GAA championship draws lit up Páirc Uí Chaoimh tonight, serving up a host of local derbies and heavyweight pairings for 2025.
Few fixtures will draw as much attention as Ballinhassig versus Courcey Rovers in the Senior A
Hurling Championship. The neighbours, who forged one of the region’s great rivalries in the 1990s, now meet again—this time with Ballinhassig rising from Premier Intermediate and eager to make a statement.
The Premier Intermediate draw promises no shortage of fireworks either. Carrigaline, Ballymartle and Valley Rovers are locked together in what could be the most competitive group of the championship, with Kilworth lurking dangerously in the background.
Ballymartle, stung by last year’s narrow loss to Carrigaline, will relish another crack at them, while Valley Rovers arrive with youthful momentum after their strong U21 campaign.
In Senior Football, Carrigaline have avoided Valley Rovers but face a familiar test in Mallow, alongside Douglas and reigning champions St Finbarr’s.
Valley Rovers, meanwhile, will need to dig deep to survive a group featuring Newcestown, Nemo Rangers and St Michael’s.
Further down the ladder, Ballygarvan, Glen Rovers, Kilshannig and Nemo Rangers form a compelling Premier Junior Hurling grouping, while Tracton face a stern challenge against Cloughduv, St Catherine’s and Milford.
Kinsale, too, have no easy road in the Premier Junior Football Championship, with Millstreet, Cullen and St Vincent’s standing in their way.
