Handmade & Sustainable Jewellery Design Created During Lockdown

Luna Ray Jewellery was launched during lockdown in 2021, creating unique, stylish and sustainable jewelry. Inspired by nature and interiors, each piece is carefully slow-made by hand by local artist, Lorna Rumley from her converted studio space in a garden shed in Belgooly.

Originally a lockdown hobby which allowed her time to get creative again after completing an art & design portfolio course in Cork 10 years ago. Her earrings celebrate boho chic with a nod to sustainable fashion, a dazzling fun accessory with a serious ethical ethos.

Made with polymer clay, stainless steel, brass and sterling silver components, Lorna has the environment and visuals at the heart of her designs. Some earrings are delicately painted with gold leaf, acrylics or finished with a gloss for that extra sparkle. No two pieces are exactly the same so you are sure to find something truly unique.

Dedicated to zero waste and sustainable fashion, all materials are used up and reimagined in the creation process. The one of a kind collection which was recently released and is dedicated to unique and reimagined pieces from leftover clay. The pieces are gift wrapped with eco packaging and each customer receives a handwritten note for that personal touch.

I wanted to make beautiful jewellery that is kind to my environment, as I am inspired by nature, but I want them to be fun, a celebration of style - and that would stand the test of time - whatever fashion throws up” says Lorna Rumley.

Along with signature designs, designer Lorna also creates custom pieces upon request and offers tailored bridal party design services where she can colour match to your own unique style and preferences for that special day.

The Daisy is one of the newest summer designs, inspired by her garden and has been described as a “cheery, bright” addition to people’s wardrobes. The Daisy would also be amazing worn by a summer bride for a cool and quirky touch. Watch this space as Lorna intends to bring out new collections and colour palettes in the coming months.
