A grateful Kinsale public paid tribute to four local fire service members for cleaning the Stoney Steps in the town and bringing the mural of Anne Bonney, the queen pirate, back to life.
Unveiled in 2021, the famous depiction has suffered from the effects of the daily pedestrian traffic, making it unrecognisable.
However, last weekend, the historical figure was brought back to life thanks to David O'Donovan, George Marian,Ger Butler and Roy Lovell, with the aid of their fire hoses.
With many comments of congratulations to the firemen for their work on social media, it was best summed up by one poster who said,' Well done to all of you. It looks brilliant.'
