Mundy, Paddy Casey and The Oars are set to “Sing out the Summer” in Crosshaven

Mundy, Paddy Casey and acclaimed Cork band The Oars are set perform a special fundraising concert in the Basketball Hall at Coláiste Muire, Crosshaven, on Friday, August 22nd.

The concert is organised by Dr Eva McMullan and the Crosshaven Community Choir. “Sing Out the Summer” will raise funds towards the development of the school's basketball hall, a facility that will benefit both the students of Coláiste Muire and the wider Crosshaven community for generations to come. 

Adding to the occasion, KC from Cork's RedFM will serve as Master of Ceremonies, bringing his trademark warmth and humour to what promises to be a memorable evening of exceptional music. 

The concert will feature headline performances from two of Ireland's most celebrated singer-songwriters, Mundy and Paddy Casey, whose musical friendship spans more than three decades.

Opening the evening will be The Oars, one of Ireland's most exciting live bands. Renowned for their soaring harmonies, exceptional musicianship and electrifying performances, they have earned a reputation as one of the country's finest original acts.

Damien Dempsey described them as “one of the finest and most unique bands in Ireland. With soaring vocals, driving rhythms and instrumental mastery, it doesn't get better than The Oars. These guys are world class."

"I'm really looking forward to playing a long overdue gig in Crosshaven with my old friend Paddy Casey. We always have a lot of fun when we play together. We've known each other for over thirty years now” Mundy told The Carrigdhoun, “We used to busk together in Dublin and spent many nights playing open mic sessions. We each perform two sets and then finish with one together, which is always great fun."

The concert continues a proud tradition of acclaimed productions presented by the Crosshaven Community Choir under the musical direction of Dr Eva McMullan. Over the years, the choir has built an outstanding reputation for collaborating with many of Ireland's most celebrated performers, including Brian Kennedy, John Spillane, Majella Cullagh and The Frank and Walters, among many others. 

These landmark concerts have established the choir as one of the region's leading community musical ensembles, renowned for producing performances of the highest artistic quality while raising funds for worthwhile local causes. The combination of The Oars, Mundy, Paddy Casey, together with the warmth and wit of KC from RedFM, promises an outstanding evening celebrating the very best of Irish music while supporting a project that will leave a lasting legacy for the Crosshaven community.
