Cork County Council’s Arts Grants Scheme and Municipal Districts (MD) Arts Development Fund will provide financial assistance for 167 artists and arts organisations this year. There was a record number of applications and several groups in South Cork will benefit.

With a budget of €162,000, the Arts Grants Scheme is the Council’s main scheme for funding arts events and activities while the MD Arts Development Fund, totalling €150,000, supports new initiatives that enhance public access to the arts and cultural development in each of the eight MDs.
Grant approvals for South Cork include: Carrigaline Musical Society, €1,000; Kinsale Arts Weekend, €1,200; Tracton Arts Committee, €3,000; Kinsale Amateur Orchestral Society, €1,450; Cork Young Filmmakers, Kinsale Harbour of History documentary, €4,850 and Cork Young Filmmakers, Crosshaven documentary, €4,850.Crosshaven documentary, €4,850.
