The TRACTON MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL returns for its 9th year

This year the festival will be opened on Thursday, 29th August by Martin Hayes, who will then entertain us with his breath-taking fiddle playing from 8pm. It will run until Sunday 1st September - with further evening concerts by The 4 Of Us, Luka Bloom and Clare Sands

All music lovers will be enthralled by the talented Yershovy sisters from Ukraine on Saturday afternoon - classical musicians, but playing a varied repertoire including popular film and Irish music. On Saturday also there is an extensive wellness programme on offer. On Sunday the family entertainment will include a bubble extravaganza, an hilarious improvised comedy show and more live music, free all afternoon.

This year much of the festival will take place in an open air setting with stretch tent and marquees so please dress accordingly. There will be refreshments available, but for evening events and our Sunday Sessions you are welcome to BYOB.

Our popular Art Exhibition, including works by more than 30 local artists,  will be held in the beautiful Corrigan Room (in the old part of the building), and is free to enter all weekend.

This is just a snapshot of the weekend we have planned. We hope you will join us at the festival for  live performance, art exhibition, demos, workshops, talks, film, comedy, craft, wellness, food, and family fun...

See www.tracton.org for further information and bookings, and to keep up to date you can also follow us on Instagram (artstracton) or Facebook (TractonArts).

The festival takes place at Tracton Arts and Community Centre, a restored two-storey Georgian schoolhouse just outside the village of Minane Bridge. Dating from the 1820's, the original school house has been beautifully restored and extended to include The Inkwell Theatre. Organised by volunteers, with help and support from many members of our community, our festival is a not-for-profit event, and we keep our prices as low as possible. However, as a charity we are always grateful for any donations towards the running costs of the community centre and theatre.

Please note that we aim for our events to be accessible to all, and for larger events overflow parking will be available in Minane Bridge.
