Tuesday the 9th of June was a very special day for Holy Well NS as we celebrated the achievement of being awarded the Active School Flag.

To mark this wonderful accomplishment, we held a flag-raising ceremony in the Middle School Yard. The ceremony was made even more special by the musical performances of Ms O’Mahony and the Ukidukes. We were also delighted to enjoy two tunes played on the tin whistle by Ms Herlihy’s Second Class. Second Class also performed a lively dance for everyone in attendance.

We were honoured to welcome Ms Colette Sheehy, accreditor from the Active School Flag Initiative and the person responsible for awarding Holy Well NS with the Active School Flag, as our special guest speaker. Ms Sheehy spoke warmly about the tremendous efforts of the school community and remarked on how impressed she was with the enthusiasm, participation, and commitment to physical activity that she witnessed throughout the school.
