Ballymartle's Oldest Citizen Celebrates 100th birthday

Ballymartle's Violet Dorney Resident at Kinsale Community Hospital celebrated her


100th Birthday on 7" October.



Violet was born on 7" October 1925 in Ballymartle, Co. Cork, and moved


One Mile away to Bawnleigh for her married life with her late Husband


Simon.



Her Family are her pride and joy, Son Patrick, Grandchildren Sarah,


Simon and Padraig.



Great Grandchildren Eala and Riadgh.



She was extremely close to her late Twin Sister Kathleen who played a


big part in her life.



She loves Music and Dancing. She is the ultimate "Dancing Queen" For


the past 7 years Violet has been a resident at Kinsale Community


Hospital, where she has been very happy being cared for so well by the


Director of Nursing and Staff.



The Birthday Party was organised by Altrusa Club of Kinsale & District


with wonderful Music from Vincent McCarthy & Friends, and Refreshments


by the Staff of the Hospital.



The County Mayor - Cllr. Mary Linehan Foley presented Violet with A


Cheque from The President of Ireland. - Michael D. Higgins



Also in attendance was Cllr. Marie O'Sullivan - Chairman of Bandon and


Kinsale District Council.
