Carrigaline is the fastest-growing town in County Cork. Over the past 30 years, its population has nearly tripled — but public sports and community facilities haven’t kept pace.
As well as delivering near-term club facilities at the Sports Partnership site in Kilnagleary, a wider set of community organisations and groups are working towards an expanded multi-use sports campus aiming to serve the needs of Carrigaline and its surrounding area.
A collaborative effort now backed by several local clubs and organisations, including Owenabue Special Olympics Club, the Order of Malta. Carrigaline United AFC, Carrigaline Basketball Club and Sundays Well Swimming Club. These groups, together with support of local representatives Seamus McGrath and Jack White are working to deliver a campus that will support everything from athletics and swimming to soccer, rugby, basketball, and key community services.

The proposed scope includes:
Rugby and multi-use playing pitches as well as an outdoor athletics track (already part of the current plans at the Kilnagleary site)
Additional potential facilities at Kilnagleary:
o Indoor sports hall
o Swimming pool
o Gym
o Fitness studio
o Meeting rooms
One of the first steps in the feasibility study is to conduct a series of online surveys to assess the needs of key groups in Carrigaline and the surrounding area.
We need 3 mins of your time to help
We are reaching out to ask for your support to complete the online survey at the QR Code below and to ask you to also forward to your Family/Friends/colleagues etc to complete.
This survey aims to understand what the people of Carrigaline & its surrounding area think about the potential development of a new sports and swimming campus in Carrigaline. It would be a place for everyone to enjoy and participate in sports. We would greatly value input at this early stage of the project. We are especially keen to gather feedback over the next two weeks as we carry out a feasibility study.
The results of this feasibility study will support discussions with Cork County Council and assist in applications for designated government funding for community-focused, multi-use amenities. There are many examples of similarly ambitious projects being funded and developed across the country - including County Cork.
Thank you very much for your support.
