With Ireland’s Davis Cup regular captain, Conor Niland unable to travel, the honour of leading Ireland has been awarded to Ulster Performance Director Carlos Miranda and Munster Performance Director Cian Blake to travel as Co-Captains.

Cian grew up in Bishopstown and played tennis from a young age at the local club. He achieved success at Junior level and represented Munster in Interprovincial Competitions at Junior and Senior Level.

He later transitioned into tennis coaching and has been head Coach at Crosshaven for some years. He took on the role as Head Coach in Carrigaline Tennis Club in 2018 and with a strong team working with him, has made great strides in developing junior and senior coaching programmes that cater for all. In 2019 he was Tournament Director for the first International Tennis Federation event in Munster for 10 years, which was held in Carrigaline and was a major boost for the club. He has also had success in his Munster Performance Director role in recent years, captaining successful Interprovincial Teams at Junior and Senior Level.

Carrigaline Tennis Club wishes Cian every success as Co-Captain in the Davis Cup event in Cyprus and we look forward to his continuing success in his roles with Carrigaline and Munster Tennis.
