Carrigaline Tidy Towns Update

Volunteers gather at the front of the Owenabue Car Park at 7pm on Wednesday evenings and on Saturday mornings at 10.30am. All the residential estates are sprucing up their areas and the clubs are due to spring clean up the road they have adopted during April. Tidy Towns members attended the Muintir Na Tíre Pride of Place launch in County Hall last Monday. They are at present promoting the County Council grant aid painting programme which is designed to encourage the occupiers of residential and business premises to paint their homes or shop fronts. Those who qualify are premises from the Catholic Church of Our Lady & St John to Cogans Corner and the closing date is Thursday April 14th. Tidy Towns have acquired more bird boxes, bat boxes and insect hotels from the Mens shed. A few more small flower gardens and beds have been adopted by new volunteers. Work on the 1916 Centenary garden by Millwood has commenced. Anyone with ideas to help the Tidy Towns project is welcome to come and talk to the committee.
