Following Carrigaline’s success over St Finbarrs in the decider of the RedFM Division Two League Final at Pairc UI Rinn several other Carrigdhoun sides are also in action in league finals at the weekend.
Top of the billing is the meeting of Valley Rovers and Ballymartle, who square off in Ballygarvan on Sunday at 2pm in the final of the RedFM Division Three League.
In what promises to be a cracker, the teams recently served up an intriguing encounter at Brinny in the league, where the Innishannon outfit got the better of the Riverstick men, thanks to three second half goals.
With the final score on their last encounter at 3-16 to 1-16, this could go anyway as both teams up their preparations for the championship.
On Saturday, Tracton travel to Mayfield for a clash with Watergrasshill, which has a 5pm throw-in for the final of the Red FM HL Division Five.
With only a point separating the sides when they met earlier in the season, this promises to be a close affair.
For Kieran Kingston’s men, the game will be seen as an important part of their build up to the championship in the South East following last year's relegation.
Also out in the county's league finals is the Seasiders from Kinsale, who travel to Bandon at 1pm on Sunday to take on Ballinascarty.
Only a single point divided both teams on their league table but in the head-to-head the Kinsale lads had a five-point margin, which will have pleased their joint coaching staff of John Murphy and John Hurley.
Locally, Belgooly defeated Ballinhassig to reach the SE Junior A Hurling League Final, where they face Valley Rovers on Friday next. More details later. At the same game, the division unveiled two of its latest referees, Brendan Barrett, Shamrocks and Mark Kingston, Tracton. Best of luck to both lads.
Two new South East referees making their debut on Thursday night in Belgooly (L to R, Brendan Barrett, Shamrocks, Michael Sheehan, Ballinhassig, Kevin O' Sullivan, Valley Rovers, Neil Sullivan, Belgooly. Mark Kingston, Tracton,
