We are thrilled to announce that the Sunshine and Smiles and The Friday Night Club are celebrating their first birthday this week! These wonderful clubs have spent the past year creating a warm, family-friendly atmosphere where individuals living with an intellectual disability aged 8-18 and 18+ can develop social skills and enjoy a wealth of enriching activities through our two totally unique Clubs which run on alternate weeks.
The Sunshine and Smiles Club members enjoy arts and crafts, gardening, cookery, jewellery making, air hockey, basketball, Bubble Fun, Tumble Tots, trips out and so much more all with a fun youth Club Vibe!!
The Friday Night Club is more a social Club where trips out to bowling and cinema are the order of the day as well as Bingo, Quizzes’, X-Factor night, cookery and Crafts.
The success of these clubs is a testament to the vibrant community spirit they foster, offering a welcoming haven where friendships blossom and life skills flourish. The dedication of our current team has been instrumental in creating such a supportive environment, and we are eager to expand this fantastic volunteer community even further.
As we celebrate this milestone, we are excited to invite new members to join in the fun. Whether you’re a young person with and intellectual disability looking to make new friends and learn new skills, or an adult seeking a friendly social space, the Sunshine and Smiles and the Friday Night Club are the perfect places to be.
Moreover, we are also seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join Team Arch. Volunteering with us is not only a rewarding experience, but we also provide Garda Vetting, child protection training and an induction to ensure the highest standards of care. Our current team is eager to welcome new faces and share the joy and fulfilment that come from being part of these incredible clubs.
Clubs run Friday night from 7pm – 9pm in the Ringaskiddy Community Centre.
