Cllr Marie O' Sullivan welcomes new homes for Kinsale

Cllr Marie O'Sullivan has welcomed the news that Cork County Council is set to apply for Part 8 planning for 169 new homes at Cappagh, Kinsale.

Cllr O'Sullivan, who has long championed the issue of a lack of homes for those seeking to get on the property ladder, sees the announcement as very significant.

'The issue of houses is a huge part of my workload, and it's something that I feel very passionate about, and this news is extremely welcome,' she said.

'At a time when people are disillusioned at ever owning their own homes, today's news opens a window that many felt was closed.

'Of course, much more needs to be done , but to borrow a phrase 'work done but more to do'.'

The Cllr added anyone seeking information on the project to contact her or the housing department at County Hall.
