The latest winner of the Cork International Hotel Community Spirit Awards has been announced as Community Guard Stephen Cleary. Stephen is a prominent figure in the Crosshaven Community and is involved in many local activist groups and fundraising organisations.
Stephen lives in Crosshaven with his wife and two children, and is described as “someone who always goes above and beyond to help someone in need.”
Stephen Cleary is a pillar of the Crosshaven community and can often be seen stewarding at many local events, putting up Christmas lights, he is a volunteer in Templebreedy Save our Steeple,and is a leader in the 1st Crosshaven Sea Scouts.
In 2020, he led a team of Cork gardaí who completed a nationwide campaign to run 280km across two weeks in aid of the Special Olympics.
