Crosshaven RNLI will feature on BBC 2 tonight in the new series of Saving Lives at Sea at 8:00 pm.

The documentary series will show the tireless work done by the unpaid volunteers of more than 2000 RNLI lifeboat stations across the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Tonight's episode will be the first of two films that weren’t broadcast along with last year’s series. In

In this episode, Jenna, Vince and the crew from Crosshaven will have to a fisherman who has been bitten by the shark that he has just caught.

There will also be a feature on two teenage boys who jumped off the harbour wall at Axmouth, only to be swept out to sea by the Devon port’s notorious rip currents. Picked up by the lifeboat, the danger here was of “secondary drowning”, where victims die from the water already inhaled in the lungs.

The episode is currently listed as 'Pick of the Day' on iNews in the UK.
