Fund Raising Football Tournament for Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust in Memory of Carrigaline Man

On Saturday July 25^th, the annual Brown Bag Films five-a-side charity football tournament to raise funds towards the provision of accommodation for families and carers of leukaemia patients at St James’s Hospital, Dublin will take place in memory of the late Anthony Callaghan from Glenwood, Carrigaline.

Son of Seamus and Kathleen Callaghan and a sibling of Domnick and Mary, Anthony sadly passed away on June 21^st 2023, aged 45.  He resided in Leixlip, Co Kildare and was a very talented artist, 3D modeller and animator. Among the many acclaimed productions he was involved in was the animated movie ‘My Little Pony’ and the RTE Junior series Fia’s Fairies.

Seamus and Kathleen said animation companies from all over Ireland will have teams taking part in the annual five-a-side at Botanic Hockey Club, Glasnevin, Dublin, such was the high regard in which Anthony was held.  Donations can now be made online at https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/brownbag2 and up to August 24^th. All proceeds will go to Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust based at St James’s Hospital, Dublin 8. Leukaemia is a group of blood cancers that typically begin in the bone marrow and result in the overproduction of abnormal, immature white blood cells that crowd out healthy blood cells, leaving the body vulnerable to fatigue, infections, and bleeding.
