Grand Prix At Maryville Stables, Carrigaline, This Weekend

Grand Prix At Maryville Stables, Carrigaline, This Weekend Horse lovers are in for a treat this weekend as one of the most prestigious showjumping events on the calendar, the National Grand Prix, will be hosted by Carrigaline’s own Maryville Stables. Since it opened 9 years ago, Maryville Stables has established itself as one of the premier equestrian venues in the country and was voted Ireland’s Best Equestrian Show Centre for 2015 and this year 20 of their regular competitors qualified for the R.D.S. Horse Show last month. Maryville is run by the Molan family and as well as hosting weekly showjumping events, the venue includes a riding school, which caters for riders of all abilities, from beginners, (age 4+) to advanced, with lessons costing just €15 for a half hour lesson and €20 for an hour long lesson. Pony Camps are held throughout the year, with the next camp running from 15th to the 19th August, cost €150. Next weekend, visitors will get the opportunity to watch some of the finest showjumpers in the country compete at the Maryville Grand Prix. Included in the events will be a charity class on Saturday in aid of the Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice Foundation. Admission is free over the weekend and this is a fantastic opportunity for people who, up until now, may have only seen showjumping on the TV, to experience the thrills and spills of a live event. Located just outside Carrigaline, (take the Minane Bridge road through Fosters Cross and the venue is clearly signposted), this is a fantastic opportunity to see some of the finest riders in the country in action at Maryville. Facilities at the venue include an onsite restaurant, as well as a livery yard with 55 stables. Sponsors of next weekend’s Grand Prix include Cogan’s Carrigaline, Tower Equine Hospital, Farriers Tim Cahill and Fax Fell, Carrigaline Print Studio, Bucas Ireland, Caroline O’Brien Animal Physiotherapist & K Laser Specialist, O’Brien’s Saddlery Bandon and Midleton, who will have a stand at next weekend’s event and Equestrian Surfaces Crosshaven.
