Local Girl Is Toy Show’s Littlest Star

Toy Show’s Littlest Star! The now legendary Late Late Toy Show will be extra special this Friday as the youngest performer on the show just happens to be from Myrtleville! Four year old Faye Keohane whose older sisters, Lilly-Mai (11), Hazel (8) and Penny (7) are also enthusiastic singers, is the daughter of Ken, who originally hails from Ballinhassig and Caroline from Carrigaline. It was Faye’s grandmother Mary Deasy, who also lives in Myrtleville with husband Eddie, who persuaded Caroline to send off a video clip of Faye performing to the Toy Show office. Within days Caroline and Faye were invited to a Cork studio for auditions and were stunned to learn that Fay was going to be the youngest performer on this year’s show. Fay’s older sisters attend Scoil Bhride in Crosshaven and Faye is a pupil at Caterpillars Montessori. Mum Caroline reports that the girls are always singing and have attended Eva McMullan’s Music for Children and Caron Brennan’s Sing Stars classes in Crosshaven and have treaded the boards with the Montforts. Caroline and Faye will travel to Dublin on Thursday for dress rehearsals and then the countdown will begin for her big performance on Friday night. Caroline says that Faye is not a bit nervous but very excited. Tune in early for Faye’s performance, which will be early on in the show because of her age. Other local performers will be showcasing their talents on Friday’s Toy Show; Aisling de Breit from Forest Hill, Carrigaline and Katie McCoy from Kinsale are performing live with their band ‘Pick n’ Mix’.
