Monkstown Bay Sailing Club (MBSC) is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Flag Officers for the 2026 season, following the Club’s recent Annual General Meeting held at the clubhouse overlooking Monkstown Bay. The new Flag Officer team will guide the Club through another exciting year both on and off the water:

·       Commodore:         Ewen Barry

·       Vice Commodore:  David Doherty

·       Rear Commodore:  Sandy Rimmington

Incoming Commodore Barry expressed gratitude to the outgoing committee for their commitment and achievements, noting the strong growth in sailing activity and community engagement throughout 2025.

“Monkstown Bay Sailing Club has enjoyed an outstanding year, with success at local, national, and international level across several classes. Our junior and adult sailors continue to represent the Club with distinction, while our members and volunteers have made the Club a vibrant and welcoming place for all,” said Commodore, Ewen Barry.

Looking ahead, the 2026 sailing calendar will feature a series of standout events, including the Optimist Sprint Event and the Fireball Munster Championships, alongside a full programme of dinghy and junior sailing. The recently refreshed clubhouse and bar area will serve as a lively hub for members, visiting sailors, and the wider community throughout the season.

With a growing fleet and a thriving social atmosphere, MBSC extends a warm welcome to new members — whether seasoned sailors or complete beginners — to join in the excitement on Monkstown Bay. Connect with the club at www.mbsc.ie.
