Plan for New Kinsale Library Writes Leo McMahon

Plans are being prepared to develop a new library for Kinsale, with a view to seeking funding from the Government, stated acting county librarian Ms. Eileen O’Brien in a quarterly report to a recent meeting of Cork County Council. The proposal involves part development of the former Good’s Mill, Church Square, Kinsale. The library is currently located behind the Methodist Church in Short Quay. Lendings in the county library network from the start of the year to March 17th last totaled 388,826 including 21,127 from Carrigaline, 4,238 from Kinsale and 4,702 from Passage West library.
