Kinsale 6
Limerick 2
On Sunday, the U18 girls continued their good run of results with a strong win over Limerick in a very competitive game. Kinsale led twice in the first half, only for Limerick to level the game at 2–2 by half-time. If it had not been for some excellent saves in goal from captain Izzey Colbert, the team could, and probably should, have been behind.

Having weathered Limerick pressure at the start of the second half—thanks largely to some fine defending from Lara McGinn, Eliana Hosford, Dalia Kemp and Freida Kurten—Kinsale gained a foothold in the game with three quick goals, all scored by full forward Charlotte Collins.
In the final quarter, both teams began to tire and few chances were created. However, just before the full-time whistle, Alice Connaughton won the ball back in midfield and played Millie O’Dowd through on goal, where she calmly hammered the ball high into the roof of the net from the top of the circle.
This was a significant win, as Limerick are currently third in the league.
The next match for the girls is on Friday evening, away to Clonakilty in the Munster League.
