Sienna Styles – Affordable Fashion In Carrigaline
Fashionistas with an eye for value will be flocking to the Carrigaline Shopping Centre, following the opening of Sienna Styles ladies clothing store last week. Proprietor Orla Corkery opened her first Sienna boutique on Main Street, Kinsale early in 2015 and following the success of that venture, she has now decided to bring Sienna Styles to Carrigaline in response to demand from her loyal customers, who found the commute a little too much. Sienna Styles is a one-stop shop for all your fashion needs. Proprietor Orla Corkery comes from a well-known Carrigaline family. Her father, plumber Seamus Corkery is the founder member of and life long President of Carrigaline Rugby Club. Orla recalls the day the Rugby Club was born at the kitchen table in El Jirah, her family home. Orla gets her love of fashion from her mother Margot, who was a designer and manager at the Cork Elizabeth James fashion house, which was to the forefront of Irish fashion design in the fifties and sixties. Orla describes her mother as her inspiration, along with style icons Audrey Hepburn, Coco Chanel, Karen Millan and Victoria Beckham, whom she sees as a huge influence on Sienna. Orla’s partner is golf professional Wayne O’Callaghan, who runs a successful Golf Academy in Kilmoney Road. Orla is now thinking of expanding to cater for the needs of golf ladies. Orla firmly believes in keeping up with High Street trends and this ensures that her range allows clients to capture the latest looks, whether they’re planning a day at the races or a nice lunch with friends. Sienna has the every day style conscious lady in mind and size is not a problem. Orla has invested a lot of time in sourcing stylish, free style fashion with a glamorous edge, so size does not matter. Orla is clearly a woman of many talents. She spent 10 years running a very successful guesthouse in Kinsale but, having excelled at art in school, her creative talents were looking for fresh challenges and she moved in to the construction sector in a design capacity. She is also a qualified florist and beautician. She is also a keen lover of art and paints in her free time. However, Orla has always had a great love for the world of fashion and opening Sienna in Kinsale was a dream come through for her and her drive and passion for her clients led her to Carrigaline, her home town. Orla’s vision for Sienna Styles is affordable fashion – quality items at reasonable prices. Sienna Styles stocks a wide variety of outfits, ranging from smart casual to day and evening wear, along with costume jewellery and handbags. Orla loves helping her customers to put a complete outfit together – matching an outfit with the perfect handbag or finding that perfect piece of jewellery to complete a look. Sienna stocks a wide range of labels including Denim Club, Urban Mist, Marc Malango and Toxic Denim, and hopes that her customers will come to regard Sienna Styles as their fashion fix destination in Carrigaline. Orla has a wonderful staff and Teresa O’Callaghan, (nee Corkery), has joined the Sienna Styles team and is equally as passionate as Orla about her customers. Team Sienna plans to remain 100% customer focused and Orla is planning on launching her website in the coming week, siennastyles.ie Orla has two daughters who love the fashion business. Robyn, her eldest daughter, is studying Commerce and Italian in UCC and Holly her 15-year-old daughter is in 3rd year. She hopes that both girls will one fill her shoes in the business world and join their mum in making women feel better about themselves. Orla has a motto in her shops. She supports a lot of charities and one very dear to her is the Breast Cancer Trust. After a trip to the cancer ward herself, her famous words when training her staff or dressing her clients is “Love your body. Until you’re faced with losing a part of it, you will be sorry you ever hated any of it” Orla says; “I find women are afraid to love themselves and enjoy their bodies. I try to focus on the self when speaking to my customers. When dressing someone, I think of a blank canvas. Clothing is like the paint, it adds beauty to one’s body and indulging in nice clothing is just another form of art. Colour adds to one’s beauty. I also keep my prices very low so everyone can indulge”.
