Traffic Light Controlled Pedestrian Crossings At Cogan’s Corner, Carrigaline. Works are planned to commence shortly at Cogan’s Corner, Carrigaline on the construction of two traffic light controlled pedestrian crossings and a footpath enhancement scheme. The scheme is designed to provide greater permeability for pedestrians at this location and to make walking a safer and more attractive form of transport for people. There will be one crossing on the Kilmoney Road near the junction and another on Church Hill. Some of the existing cobble lock paving will be retained with new concrete footpaths being provided on Church Hill. Martin O Callaghan Limited is the contractor who won the tender process and they propose to commence on site in the next number of weeks. Thank you to Cllr Seamus McGrath for the update. See next week’s paper for full details.
