Kinsale Gearing Up For Pink Ribbon Walk

Registration is now open for the 2016 Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk that takes place on Sunday 17th April at 12noon. This is the fifth sponsored 10k walk/run in Kinsale to benefit Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society. “The purpose of the Pink Ribbon Walks is to both raise awareness and funds for Action Breast Cancer and, importantly, to show solidarity and offer support to family and friends affected by cancer,” said Fionnuala McCarthy, Chairperson of the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk Committee. “Last year, over 1,000 walkers raised over €96,000 for the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk. It is a fantastic community event where so many people get involved. We love to welcome walkers and runners from all over Cork and further afield to enjoy a wonderful day in Kinsale, supporting Action Breast Cancer,” she added. Sharon Crosbie, singer and Ambassador for Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk, again is lending her support to the event and is bringing a group of over 50 women from Dublin for the weekend to participate in the walk. For information and registration see www.pinkribbonwalk.ie and registration forms also available at Collins Kinsale Pharmacy, Kinsale. Registration is open over the weekend of the Pink Ribbon Walk in the Temperance Hall Kinsale on 16th & 17th April. All welcome.
