The problem of speeding on the road through Brightwater and Drake’s Point, Crosshaven was highlighted by Cllr Audrey Buckley (FF) at the monthly meeting of Cork County Council’s Carrigaline Municipal District (MD).
Pointing out that it was a busy through road linking Myrtleville/Fountainstown Road with the Church Bay Road and village, she said there was also need to repaint road markings. Cathaoirleach Seamus McGrath (FF) spoke in support saying it had become a main through road in Crosshaven.
Senior executive engineer Madeleine Healy replied that road markings would be re-painted when the weather was suitable. Cllr Buckley also had a motion calling for attention to the main access road to Crosshaven because sections of the new tarmac were sloping at the sides.
A section of road near eight new homes at Templebreedy near Church Bay, Crosshaven had ‘crumbled away’, said Cllr Buckley who asked that it receive attention. There was a similar problem near a house on a corner at Church Bay Road. The engineer undertook to investigate.
The MD unanimously recommended the taking in charge by the council of Bharr na Aille, Crosshaven.
